This morning, Congressman Brady joined Houston's Morning News on KTRH to discuss rising inflation and Democrats' tax breaks for the rich as they attempt to pass President Biden's massive $4 trillion tax-and-spending bill.

"We just got the word that the House today is going to consider the largest spending bill in American history... it's got over a trillion dollars of crippling tax hikes, it hammers small businesses, it's going to drive prices higher and pay people more to stay at home than to come to work."

On President Biden's reckless "Build Back Better" tax-and-spend plan:

"Under this President, we are now on the highest inflation rate in 40 years. He is responsible for much of that, including on energy. But I tell you what, it's going to get worse. I'm leading the fight against these tax hikes.

We just got the word that the House today is going to consider the largest spending bill in American history. This four trillion-dollar bill, no one's read, no one knows what it costs. It was written in secret and now it is being rushed to the floor. The only thing we do know, is it's got over a trillion dollars of crippling tax hikes, it hammers small businesses, it's going to drive prices higher and pay people more to stay at home than to come to work. The biggest worry is that it is going to raise taxes on the middle class."

On Democrats' tax breaks for the rich:

"They've got so many taxes and so many special interests, breaks for wealthy trial lawyers, for electric bikes. They're going to give a twelve and a half thousand-dollar government check to a family making half a million dollars a year so they can buy a luxury Beemer, Benz, electric vehicle. This bill is stuffed with so much wasteful pork. I've never seen anything like it."

"You can't be fighting for the middle class and small business and still vote for this bill. A great example: in this four and a half trillion-dollar bill, two out of three millionaires get a major tax cut, but the middle class get a tax hike. There are huge giveaways to big corporations and the wealthy in the Green New Deal. They've got about half a trillion dollars of green pork. I don't understand, for a state like Texas, why someone would back a bill like this."

On the Democrats' continued war on energy:

"There's about 100 billion dollars of tax hikes on energy, oil, and gas, which is going to drive prices up for families, including in Texas, but it targets our jobs and our communities as well. It's unbelievable. Right now, there doesn't appear to be a single centrist House Democrat who's going to vote against this, at least as of this morning."
