Task Force members include Representatives Michael Burgess, Louie Gohmert, Chip Roy, Pete Sessions, Roger Williams, and Beth Van Duyne.

“Agriculture is crucial to our Texas economy and way of life. These lawmakers will lead our efforts in Congress to protect farmers, ranchers and the million jobs in our state tied to agriculture,” said Rep. Kay Granger of Fort Worth and Rep. Kevin Brady of The Woodlands who lead the Texas GOP delegation.

The Texas Ag Task Force will promote and champion federal policies that strengthen Texas agriculture and rural communities, engage producer groups and other key stakeholders in the state, develop pro-agriculture strategies in trade, taxation, rural development, environmental regulation, rural broadband and the 2023 Farm Bill, advocate to the USDA, EPA and other agencies within the Biden Administration, and work closely with other members of Congress and the top Republican of the House Agriculture Committee Rep. G.T. Thompson.

Ranking Member Thompson welcomed the united Texas effort in agriculture, saying, “Texas is the epicenter of production agriculture and is essential to our nation’s food security. The Texas Ag Task Force will be an important part of staying close to Texas producers as we craft the next Farm Bill and advance policies that strengthen American agriculture and rural America.”
