“These torrential rains are causing more misery for homeowners and businesses, some who are still working to rebuild from the Tax Day floods. With the continued rain this may not be over, but an early assessment shows we will likely need Governor Abbott to declare another disaster so we can help to these families and communities.” ?

Conroe, TX  —U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady is urging Texas Governor Greg Abbott to declare another major disaster for Texas counties impacted by last night’s storms.  Brady, in contact with county officials from Harris, Grimes, Montgomery and Walker counties, said the new damage will require a second, separate declaration from the April 18th flooding.

“These torrential rains are causing more misery for homeowners and businesses, some who are still working to rebuild from the Tax Day floods. With the continued rain this may not be over, but an early assessment shows we will likely need Governor Abbott to declare another disaster so we can help to these families and communities.”

Background: Today, Congressman Brady sent a letter to Governor Abbott requesting that his office act as quickly as possible to determine the level of assistance needed. To read the full letter click here.
