The Woodlands, Texas — Congressman Kevin Brady, (R-TX) released the following statement on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that Texas’ voter ID law violates Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
“I’m disappointed with the Court’s decision. This rule opens the door to voter fraud and weakens the integrity of elections. Texas will continue to fight to maintain a fair and free democratic process.”
Background: In an unanimous decision, a three-judge panel ruled that the measure violated Section 2 of the civil rights law.
