House Passes Another ObamaCare Repeal Bill

America doesn’t increase access to affordable health care by taxing pacemakers, artificial joints, heart valves and MRI machines. By voting to repeal this tax, the House is working to save almost 40,000 good paying American jobs and save patients higher costs on medical devices.

Congressman Kevin Brady, (R-TX) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 160 – Protect Medical Innovation Act which repeals the Affordable Care Act’s medical device tax.

“Taxing life-saving medical devices is a terrible way to fund health care. America doesn’t increase access to affordable health care by taxing pacemakers, artificial joints, heart valves and MRI machines. By voting to repeal this tax, the House is working to save almost 40,000 good paying American jobs and save patients higher costs on medical devices.”

Background: The Protect Medical Innovation Act amends the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the excise tax on medical devices added to the federal tax code in the Affordable Care Act.
