Josh Bradley | Legislative Assistant

Josh Bradley joined Congressman Brady’s team in 2016. Originally from Tyler, Texas, Josh graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in Economics and Political Science, before moving to Washington D.C. with the University of Texas Archer Fellowship Program. His first introduction to Team Brady came through a summer internship, but following a brief stint as Congressman Pete Olson’s Staff Assistant, he returned to Congressman Brady’s office as a Legislative Correspondent in 2016 and now works as a Legislative Assistant. His portfolio covers issues relating to Defense, Veterans’ Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Small Business, Budget, and House Administration.

Austin Bray Legislative Assistant

Austin joined Congressman Brady’s office in August of 2016 as a law clerk and now works as a Legislative Assistant. His portfolio includes: Energy, Natural Resources, the Environment, Transportation, Immigration, Labor, Employment, Education, Science and Space, Native American issues, as well as Judiciary and Legal matters. Austin is a District 8 native and received his B.A. in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from Tulane University Law School. He is a member of the Texas bar. During his time in law school Austin worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in New Orleans.

Laura Cureton | Deputy Scheduler

Laura joined Congressman Brady's office in 2018 as his Deputy Scheduler. A Texas native and proud Aggie alum, Laura graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in International Studies. Prior to joining Team Brady she interned in Congressman Bill Flores' office through the Texas A&M University’s Public Policy Internship Program.

David W. Davis | Chief of Staff

Bringing a wealth of Capitol Hill and military experience with him, Lt. Col. David Davis (US Army Ret.) joined Team Brady as Chief of Staff in 2016. After a successful career as a Field Artillery and Foreign Area Officer, David continued serving his country by joining U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s team. David’s leadership during multiple base realignment rounds increased Texas’ military clout for the 21st century. David has served as a Senior Advisor on the Senate Commerce Committee, Chief of Staff for the Vice Chair of the Republican Conference, and Legislative Director and Chief of Staff for Senator Hutchison -- as well as in the private sector. A graduate of Mercer University and the Korean Army College, David earned a Masters Degree in World Politics from Catholic University in Washington, DC. A life member of the VFW, David recently served on the Board of the Texas State Society. David's wife, Donna, retired from the U.S. Senate and daughter, Mae, is a senior at Boston University.

Preston Howey| Legislative Correspondent 

Preston joined Team Brady in the spring of 2018 as his Legislative Correspondent. Originally a native of Midland, Texas, Preston is a proud alum of Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. Prior to that, Preston interned for Congressman Will Hurd (TX­–23) through Texas A&M University’s Public Policy Internship Program.

Brittney May| Director of Scheduling and Operations

Brittney first joined Congressman Brady’s office in 2016 as his Deputy Scheduler. Most recently, she served for a year as Scheduler to Texas Congressman John Ratcliffe before rejoining Team Brady in April of 2018. Brittney earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Global Studies Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Alycia Maloney | Health Legislative Assistant

Alycia Maloney joined Congressman Kevin Brady’s team in 2017. Alycia, a proud graduate of Loyola University and DePaul University College of Law, worked in the private sector before arriving on the Hill as a health fellow in the office of Congressman Peter Roskam. She joins Team Brady from Houston Congressman John Culberson’s office. Alycia is equally comfortable with a backpack and a tent as she is in the committee rooms of the U.S. Capitol. When not working long hours on health policy, she enjoys hiking. In fact, she enjoys it so much she spent several days hiking around Norway in the summer of 2017.

Allyson Manley | Press Secretary

Allyson joined Congressman Brady's DC office in 2016. A Texas native and proud Aggie alum, Allyson comes to us with a strong and diverse communications background. After a successful internship with Anadarko's public affairs team, Allyson served as COO and co-founder of medical device tech startup, Roa. Allyson joined Team Brady from The Aspen Art Museum, where she worked with the communications team and finance director. Her expertise is in social media management and digital marketing.

Christina Perez | Director of District Operations

A Texas native, Christina Perez is a former Team Brady intern who recently graduated from District Eight's very own Sam Houston State University. A leader of the LEAP ambassadors program during her time at SHSU, Christina has been an involved member of the community and brings even more local knowledge and experience to Congressman Brady’s district office.

Jonathan Porter | Legislative Director and Deputy Chief of Staff 

Jonathan joined Congressman Brady’s office in 2017. Texas native and proud Aggie alum, Jonathan brings a wealth of Capitol Hill experience with him. Before coming to Congressman Brady’s office, Jonathan served as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) where he covered agriculture, trade, labor, welfare, appropriations, and Second Amendment issues. Prior to that, Jonathan served as a Legislative Assistant for the House Committee on Agriculture where he advised members and staff on agriculture policy and farm bill issues.

Janet Qureshi | Director of Case Management

Janet has worked for Congressman Brady for more than two decades -- first in his state legislative office and now in his Congressional office. As Director of Case Management, Janet works with veterans and constituents who need assistance with Social Security, Medicare, Immigration and many other areas of federal government. As a former operating room nurse, her background in medicine helps to get to the bottom of medical concerns that our veterans, seniors and constituents may have. Janet is the proud mother of a Texas A&M and South College of Law graduate. Janet is also Team Brady's chef and frequently brings her love of cooking into the office.

Vita Swarers | Deputy Director of Case Work

Vita Swarers has worked in Congressman Brady's Orange office since January 2008 after joining Team Brady from a Texas State Representative’s office. In January of 2013, Vita transferred to the newly expanded Huntsville office as caseworker for Houston, Leon, Madison San Jacinto, Walker and Trinity counties. Vita helps resolve problems with federal agencies on issues relating to veterans benefits, social security, Medicare, immigration, and other federal programs.

Shana Teehan | Communications Director and Senior Advisor

Shana is a seventh-generation Texan from Brazoria who previously worked for Team Brady as Press Secretary from November 2012 till January 2015. She spent two years in the office of Texas Congressman Will Hurd as his Communications Director, before being recruited to the Senate in 2017 to handle communications for Alabama Senator Luther Strange. She rejoined Team Brady in March of 2018. Shana is the proud homeschooling mom of four children. 

Heather Washburn | District Director

Heather is a Montgomery County native and proud Aggie alum who brings a wealth of political knowledge and over a decade of teaching experience to Team Brady. She comes from Knox Jr. High where she taught science and served as head coach for a variety of sports teams. In her early career, Heather served as Senator Todd Staples’ District Coordinator and spent time managing campaigns for community leaders at both a local and state level. Her established involvement in the community and strong public service background make her a great fit for the Eighth Congressional District.
